Providing a platform for Yr9 and Yr10 cricketers to participate in cricket games and a cricket league during the season. The teams participating in the Cricket Championship will be run by the schools and clubs who are taking part in the competition.
This competition is comprised of 4 teams that play on a Friday afternoon (GBHS x 3) and a TWCC team. TWCC will not be fielding a team on Saturday Fixtures. Friday and Saturday fixtures will be run under two separate leagues, i.e. T20 and 30 over league. With separate points standings. Should other teams wish to join the competition, this can change
Coaches/managers that take these teams throughout the season will need to be registered through the NZC friendly manager platform and had to have completed the vulnerable children’s course. This is compulsory for all coaches.
The level of coaching required to coach this form of cricket will be “Advanced Foundation Coach”. This level can be attained through the friendly manager platform. Below is the breakdown of the foundation course. (See framework below)
Team coaching sessions will be administered by the school or club coach. Please contact the high school or club for more details regarding training times and sessions.

NEW NZC POLICY
- All managers and coaches that coach a team that has U18 players in it have to be registered through the NZC coaching platform (friendly manager). these coaches will be police vetted. it will also allow assocaitions and clubs to keep a database of coaches.
The platform will have online coaching modules. These modules will be availble to all coaches who register.
