The OBR Cricket Club originated out of the Old Boys Rugby Club.  Over the years the club amalgamated with ROB and OBM cricket teams.

The OBR team have achieved a lot of success over the last couple of decades which included winning the Poverty Bay Senior B competition consistently in the early 2000's and winning a number of Senior A trophies over the last 12years. At one stage the club fielded 4 teams in 2007.

In the 2017/2018 season OBR won all 3 major trophies which was a first for the club.  Craig Christophers was the Poverty Bay cricket player of the year and top run scorer locally.  Jimmy Holden and Matthew Cook were the top wicket takers in the local competitions.  OBR will aim to defend their titles in 2018/2019 season.
